For those U.S. children ages 10-12, achieving fame is their biggest goal in life. “Despite how much we desire it, fame is terrible for happiness,” writes Arthur Brooks in his continuing series on happiness and how to have it. “Indeed, fame militates against the ingredients of well-being. The sooner we can take this lesson to heart and teach it to our kids, the better off we all will be.” For some, fame has even become another form of addiction; the more we have, the more we want.
